The Michael T. Mooney Archive

The Michael T. Mooney Archive is believed to contain the world's largest privately built collection pertaining to Alan Ayckbourn and his plays. The archive is named after its New Jersey-based founder, who has been collecting material relation to the playwright for more than three decades.

In 2016, Michael - in conjunction with this website - donated his archive to the Ayckbourns in order that the collection move to a long-term home that would also be available for researchers to use in the future. The move of the Archive took place in 2016, but it expected to take several years to collate and catalogue the material. Such is the extent of the Archive, that much new information relating to Alan Ayckbourn, his career as a an actor and director as well as his plays is expected to come to light, much of which will be added to this website.

The Michael T. Mooney Archive will be kept intact but will at some point in the future be placed within a larger Ayckbourn archive collection.

The Michael T. Mooney Archive covers the entirety of Alan Ayckbourn's playwriting career as well as his acting and directing careers. It includes programmes / playbills, posters, flyers, advertising material, press cuttings, publications, photographs and other material.

Alan Ayckbourn's Official Website is delighted to have been offered the opportunity to work with The Michael T. Mooney Archive and to use it for research for presentation on the website before it becomes part of the larger Ayckbourn Archive.
